The Welcoming Paths committee is charged with ensuring that we actively invite those in our community to worship with us, that we greet them warmly, welcome all who enter our doors, and make all feel included. We offer newcomers a “first burst of enthusiastic welcome” and help them find their niche and settle in comfortably with the CHS community. We’re also here to help more established members get more deeply involved in new and enriching ministries.
The committee manages several “foyer groups,” small groups of parishioners that gather regularly at each others’ homes, oversees the work of the greeters, provides blue cards in the pews for new members, and refurbishes and maintains the stock of parishioner name tags. In addition to welcoming those who come through the doors of our church, we also explore strategies to reach out to the wider community and to be an inviting and truly welcoming church.
To get involved in the work of the welcoming committee, please contact Martha Williams, Sandy Marshall, or the parish office.
